Frequently Asked Questions

See the column on the right for other pages that may be of assistance.

Can I change the layout of my finished floor plan?

Yes. The default, and recommended, layout setting on the system is 'Best fit...' but you can choose to set your account for the levels to always be shown 'side-by-side' or alternatively 'one-above-the-other'.

To change the setting, click ‘Your account’ then ‘Change preferences’ and select ‘Floor plan appearance’ from the drop-down menu. Go down to ‘Layout of floors’ and select your preferred layout from the drop-down menu.

Once you’ve set your preferences, click the ‘Save changes’ button at the bottom of the page. Any plans that are draw/processed from that point onwards will pick up this change.

Can I change the disclaimer on my finished plan?

Yes. To change or remove the disclaimer that appears on your finished plan, go to ‘Your account’ and click ‘Change preferences’. Then select ‘Floor plan appearance’ from the drop-down menu.

Scroll down to ‘Disclaimer Style’ and select your preference from the drop-down menu. Here you have a choice of a “Full”, “Minimal” or custom disclaimer, or having none at all.

Can I download my floor plans in a different format (i.e. JPEG)?

Yes. You are able to download your finished floor plan in a number of different formats. The default format settings on the download page are as follows:

"Download for Web" button is a JPEG file, perfect for viewing on a web site (but not best for use when printing)

"Download for Printing" is set to a GIF file, which is a high quality file that produces a crisp printed image. It’s typically this button that is used to download the floor plan and inserted into an estate agency software solution (although it’s worth checking which format your software provider prefers to support).

To change the settings click ‘Your account’ then ‘Change preferences’ and select ‘Formats’ from the drop-down menu. Here you can change the file format that each button downloads by clicking the drop-down menus and selecting your preferred file type. Don’t forget to click the ‘Save changes’ button at the bottom of the page.

NOTE: In addition to the above download option there is the option to download files as WMF. EMF and even with the floor plan image already in Word. These download options are available just below the "download for web" button.

Can I choose to have 3D Floor Plans with or without furniture and specify the file format they are created in?

Yes. 3D Floor Plans can be produced with or without furniture and there are various file types you can choose for the plans to be created.

To select your preferred account settings, ‘Your account’ then ‘Change preferences’ and select ‘3D Floor Plans’ from the drop-down menu. From here you can choose how you want your 3D Floor Plans to be produced. Don’t forget to click the ‘Save changes’ button at the bottom of the page.

Can I save the finished plans on my computer?

You can easily download and save your floor plans onto your computer from the download page. To do this, simply go to the ‘My Plans’ page, where you can view the list of all you completed plans, and click the ‘View’ button next to the plan you are wish to download. Simply click ‘Download for print’, ‘Download for web’ or one of the other options below these buttons (if necessary, see ‘Can I download my floor plans in a different format (i.e. JPEG)?’).

A pop-up window will be displayed giving you the choice to open or save your plan. Click the ‘Save’ button and then choose where you’d like to save the file to.

Once I have completed a plan can I make amendments?

Absolutely! You can open and amend your plan at any time. To do this, go to the ‘My Plans’ page, where you can view the list of all you completed plans, click the ‘View’ button next to the plan you wish to amend.

Click the ‘Open plan’ button just above the floor plan image and make your changes. Once made, click the ‘Plan complete’ button to re-process it. You will notice, on the ‘My Plans’ page, that this new file does not automatically over-write your previous version in case it’s being used as a template for other properties. You can of course delete unwanted plans by clicking the ‘Delete plan’ button.

Is there a way to rotate a plan or obtain a mirror image of a plan?

There is! If your plan needs rotating, click the Edit menu at the top of the drawing page just above the ‘Add room’ button. You then have the option to choose ‘Rotate clockwise’ or ‘Rotate anticlockwise’.

Very similarly, you are able to mirror your plan by selecting ‘Mirror left to right’ or ‘Mirror top to bottom’. This function will mirror all the floors in your plan.

Can I enter room measurements manually?

You are able to enter measurements manually on both the drawing plan page and during the saving process (once you’ve clicked the ‘Plan complete’ button).

Once you have created a room on the drawing plan page, simply click ‘Set wall length’ (on the right hand side of the page) and then click on a wall. A window will be displayed where you can manually enter the measurements of the wall you have selected. When you are finished drawing your plan, click the ‘Plan complete’ button. Prior to processing your plan you can check the measurements and amend them if required, or even remove measurements completely.

Note: By changing the measurements after clicking 'Plan complete', you will not affect the positions of walls within your drawing but are simply controlling the measurements stated within each room on the final plan.

Can I include a watermark on my floor plans?

Yes. You can upload your company logo at any time, to be displayed as a watermark on your 2D floor plans.

To do this, go to ‘Your account’ then ‘Change preferences’ and select ‘Watermarks’ from the drop-down menu. Set all your preferences then upload your logo by clicking the ‘Browse’ button. Once this has finished, click the ‘Upload’ button below then save the changes. Any floor plans you produce from this point onwards will include the watermark. However, if you have any finished plans that you want changing, you will need to reprocess/resave them.

Very similarly you can remove the watermark at any time by going back into your preferences and removing the link to you logo in the ‘Upload new image’ field.

Can I add furniture to my floor plan?

You are able to add kitchen and bathroom units to your plan by dragging the relevant icons in to place. However, in order to show furniture on your plan you would need to order a 3D Floor Plan and/or Walkthrough, where the system automatically inserts soft furnishings for you.

The Walkthroughs guide the viewer from room to room where they are able to experience the property with different furnishings, decoration and flooring types as the tour progresses – you are also able to upload photographs of the property that can be displayed at the relevant points throughout the tour. 3D Floor Plans are still images created with the same 3D software as the Walkthroughs, where they can be ordered as furnished or unfurnished depending on your preference.

How long do 3D Floor Plans and Walkthroughs take to process?

3D Floor Plans and Inside 3DGE are usually processed within a few hours. Once ready they an email is sent with the plan attached although it’s also available to download from within your account as well.

3D Walkthroughs generally take up to 24 hours to process, however often they’re ready the same day!
