1. Put the mouse pointer over the wall you wish to move - the wall will turn red.
2. Hold down the left mouse button.
3. Gently move the mouse in the direction you wish to wall to move.
4. When you're happy with the new location of the wall (and its measurement), release
the mouse button.
As an alternative to 2 and 3 above you can also use the arrow keys on your keyboard.
1. Place the mouse pointer midway along a wall - the wall will turn red.
2. Double click the left mouse button (or single click the right one if you prefer).
3. Move the mouse button away from the wall and you'll see a white dot on the wall
where you had double clicked.
4. The wall has been split in two and you can drag either section of that wall independently
to form an L-shaped room.
Odd shaped rooms, such as those that have angled walls are easy to create:
1. Move the mouse pointer directly over the white box where two walls meet. A red
dot will appear when you're in the right place.
2. Hold down the left mouse button and gently pull the corner to create the required
room shape.
1. Click the 'Edit' menu above the 'Add room' button

you want your curve to begin.
4. Hold you left mouse button down and draw a curve by moving your mouse in the
shape of the curve
5. When you have finished drawing the curve release the mouse button and the curved
wall will be created automatically for you.
To delete the curve, simply double-click your left mouse button on this section
of wall and click 'delete'.
1. Looking at the picture icons on the left hand side of the drawing page, ensure
the icon you wish to use is displayed (you can change between different icon options
(i.e. different doors/ kitchen sinks) by clicking the small blue arrow in the bottom-right
corner of each picture icon)
2. Position your mouse over the icon.
3. Hold down the left mouse button.
4. Gently drag your icon across onto your plan to the required position on the plan.
1. Move the mouse pointer over the blue dot. It will turn red when you're in the
right place.
2. Hold down the left mouse button.
3. Gently move the mouse along the wall until the item is in the right location.
Sometimes you'll need to move (for example) a step or a kitchen worktop to a location
where it isn't against a wall. Here's how to do it:
1. Move the mouse pointer over the blue dot as usual, making sure it turns red.
2. Double click the right mouse button (or single click the right) and the Properties
window will open
3. Near the bottom, you'll see an option "Sticks to wall" - un-tick the box and
then click close.
Now you'll find that you can drag the item away from the wall.
1. Move the mouse pointer over the door's blue dot. It will turn red when you're
in the right place.
2. Double click the left mouse button (or right click once).
In the window that appears, you can easily select Single, Double and many other
types of door. Use the Swap Hinge Side button to make the door open from the opposite
side or click Change Swing Direction to change the way the door swings.
1. Move the mouse pointer over the blue dot of your icon. It will turn red when
you're in the right place.
2. Double click the left mouse button (or right click once).
3. In the window that appears, you can adjust the width/length dragging the indicator
button in the required direction.
Making a bay window is very similar to creating an L-shaped room. The steps are:
1. Place the mouse button on the wall where the bay is to begin and double click
the left hand mouse button (or right click once) - move the mouse away and you'll
leave a small white dot.
2. Repeat the above but this time double click when the other entry point of the
bay is to begin. When you move the mouse way there will be another small white dot
on the same wall.
3. The wall has been split into three sections and you can drag the middle section
to form the bay.
To make a bow window you use the 'Curved wall' feature, just follow the steps below:
1. Click the 'Edit' menu above the 'Add room' button
2. Select 'Draw curved wall'
3. Move the mouse pointer, which has a red point attached to it, onto the wall where
you want your curve to begin.
4. Hold you left mouse button down and draw a curve by hand by moving your mouse,
making your way back to the wall before releasing your mouse button.
5. You can now drag and drop a window onto your curve - see 'How do I change the
opening width of my doors and windows?' to alter the width of your window.
To delete the curve, simply double-click your left mouse button on this section
of wall and click delete.
1. Click the 'Add cupboard' button
2. Move you mouse pointer onto you plan and position the red point on the wall where
you want your cupboard to begin.
3. Hold your left mouse button down and diagonally drag out a square to make your
cupboard, then release
Don't forget to drag and drop some doors onto your cupboard!
1. Having drawn one level of your plan, click the 'Change floor' button on the right-hand
side of your screen.
2. Typically, it's the ground floor that's drawn first so the system helps you by
automatically creating a new level called '1st floor' - this can be changed if required
by selecting the relevant name to be used from the list next provided.
3. Click the button 'Go to First floor' (or 'Go to...') if a different name was
chosen
4. You will see a blue outline of the level above/below and can create your new
floor on top of/below it
Note: You can move between floors at any time by clicking 'Change Floor'. You can
also rename, or delete floors and move them higher/lower as necessary - for example
a ground floor would nearly always be above a 1st floor and a cellar typically below
the ground floor.
The principle is the system needs only know the position of the top and bottom steps
and which way you face when about to use the stairs.
1. Click the 'Add stairs' button on the left-hand side of your page
2. Select the floors that your staircase runs between then click 'Next'
3. Click the footprint that face the direction you would be facing as you were about
to step onto the bottom step and click 'Next'
4. The step is now attached your mouse - move the mouse to the position of the bottom
step on the plan and left click to set its position.
5. Now click the footprint that faces the direction you would be facing as you were
about to use the stairs to go down them and click 'Next'
6. The top step is attached to your mouse - move the mouse to the position of the
top step and cleft click to set it into position.
7. If you are creating L-Shaped or U-Shaped stairs, follow the extra steps on the
Stairs Wizard to choose the angled or flat styled stairs.
8. A message appears saying 'Congratulations' your stairs have been added successfully'
Tips:
- Put the stairs in as soon as possible. This usually means as soon as the first
room is created on a new level (and therefore the first room to be created should
be the one where the stairs go to - usually the landing)
- If you receive a message saying your stairs could not be added, tick the box entitled
'Leave stairs on the plan anyway' and try moving the top or bottom step slightly
to create a little more room for the stairs to exist
- If you need to change the direction of one of your steps, go to the correct floor
(Use the 'Change floor' button' if needed) and double left click (or single right
click) on the blue dot and use the rotate buttons.
- Make sure there is enough space between the top and bottom step - if they were
too close you'd need a ladder not stairs!
- High ceilings mean extra steps. If you're having trouble fitting in your stairway,
check the ceiling heights on the lower of the two floors (achieved by selecting
'edit' and 'edit room/cupboard).
1. Click the 'Edit' menu above the 'Add room button' on the drawing page
2. Select 'Add split level floor'
3. Click 'OK' on the pop-up window to continue adding your stairs
4. Set the direction of your top and bottom steps (see 'How do I make stairs'?)
5. Your split level stairs should be added automatically.
The system may need to increase the ceiling height, in which case you will get a
pop-up box stating so. Simply click 'Finish' and your stairs will be added.
1. Click the 'Add stairs' button.
2. Go to the bottom of the pop-up window and tick the 'Spiral staircase' option.
3. Place your stairs icon in the desired location on your plan.
To change the name of a room, go to the 'Edit' menu and select 'Edit Room/Cupboard'.
Then click on the room you want to edit and choose a new 'Basic Room Type' and/or
'Room Description'.
To delete a room, go to the 'Edit' menu and select 'Delete room'. Then simply click
on the room you want to delete.
Note: Follow the same steps to delete a cupboard.
If you have an open plan room, such as a kitchen/living room, you can either, create
one room and name it 'kitchen/lining room' or alternatively if you wanted, for example,
a 'kitchen area' and a separate 'living room area' you should:
1. Create the two separate rooms required
2. Go to the Door icon and click the small arrow in the bottom-right corner of the
icon.
3. Choose "Opening".
4. Drag the opening onto the wall between the two rooms.
5. If appropriate, double left click (or right-click) on the blue dot of the opening
icon and increase the opening to the required width.
If you find that you have two parallel walls next to each other, you can merge these
into one by dragging one onto the other.
Although the system does not currently support gardens, you are able to add a hatched
area on your plan to represent an exterior area - ideal for balconies or perhaps
yard areas
Click the 'Add room' button and select the 'Balcony' option as the 'Basic Room Type'.
You can then type in 'Garden' in the Room Description box on the right hand side
of the page.
This will appear as a grey area on a 3D Floor Plan or Walkthrough, if ordered.
Kitchen and bathroom units can be added to your plan by dragging the relevant icons
in to place.
You can then order a 3D Floor Plan and/or Walkthrough for your 2D plan, where the
soft furnishings are automatically added.
1. Check the "Tasks to Complete" list (in the top right hand corner of the plan
drawing page) is empty
2. Press the "Plan complete" button.
3. In the "Property Details" window compete the relevant fields and click 'OK'
4. Check the measurements are correct - the measurements in each box are those to
be included in each room of the final plan. If any need amending you can simple
amend them in the fields on this page. There is no need to swap the measurements
so that the longer length comes first, as this is done automatically. If you no
not want certain/any of the measurements to show on your final plan, simply un-tick
the boxes next to the relevant room names. When you are happy with all the information,
click 'OK'
5. Your plan will be ready a few moments later - click the 'Refresh' button every
30 seconds or so until your floor plan is displayed
6. If needed you can amend your plan by clicking 'open floor plan'
